Learn about the process!

  • Please be advised that I am only able to manage three research projects concurrently due to my commitment to a full-time job. Consequently, if you reach out while I am already engaged in three ongoing projects, you will be added to a waiting list for consultation. Rest assured, no payments will be requested until after we have conducted the initial consultation and decided to proceed with the research. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as I strive to provide personalized attention and high-quality service to each client.

  • Our consultation process is designed to ensure a thorough understanding of your genealogical aspirations. Booking an in-person consultation is simple; just reach out to me via email to schedule a convenient time. Please note that a non-refundable consultation fee of £20 is required to secure your appointment. This fee must be paid through PayPal to protect both parties involved. If the consultation is booked but the fee remains unpaid, it will be assumed that the appointment is no longer desired. On the day of the consultation, we'll meet at a location that suits us both. During our meeting, we'll discuss your goals and wishes regarding your family history journey. I'll gather as much information as possible about your family history that you're already familiar with, which will aid in my research. Based on our discussion, I'll assess whether I am the best fit for your needs. If I determine that you require someone with more specialized experience or qualifications in certain areas of genealogy, I'll gladly provide recommendations. Conversely, if you feel that I'm not the right match for you, please don't hesitate to let me know, and I may be able to suggest another professional who can better assist you. If we decide to proceed, I'll outline my research plans and provide you with some paperwork to review and sign. Additionally, a 30% deposit for your chosen research option will be required on the day of the consultation, to be paid through PayPal.

  • Once all the formalities have been completed, including the payment of the non-refundable 30% deposit, I will commence the research process without delay. My approach involves delving into various genealogical records and archives to uncover valuable information about your family history. This may include examining vital records, census data, military records, and other historical documents relevant to your lineage. I'll employ meticulous attention to detail and thorough investigation techniques to piece together your family's story accurately. Throughout the research journey, I'll keep you updated on any significant findings and may seek additional information or clarification from you as needed. I aim to complete all research within the timeframe provided, striving to uncover as much information as possible about your family history. Throughout the process, if there's any additional documentation or details required from your end, I'll promptly communicate with you via email to request them. Similarly, if you have any questions or concerns at any stage of the research, please don't hesitate to contact me. Once I've gathered all the necessary information, I'll reach out to you to schedule our final meeting.

  • Once I've completed the research and am satisfied with the findings, we can arrange for a follow-up meeting again at a suitable location that appeals to us both and will also deliver a comprehensive email detailing all the collected information after our meeting.

  • Once I've presented all the research findings to you, you will receive a framed family tree poster from me. During the consultation I will show you a mock up poster, if you are unsure of the style and would like something more suited to you, once the research has been done you could take it to someone else who may be willing to do a poster more suited to you. If you're satisfied with the results and wish to delve deeper into your ancestry, I can conduct further research, going back as far as possible with no limitations. However, it's important to understand that as we venture further back, the reliability of information may decrease. Prices for additional research will be discussed during our meeting. Alternatively, if financial constraints are a concern, I'm happy to provide guidance for continuing the research independently. Sometimes, all it takes is a starting point to unlock the full potential of your genealogical journey.
